The satirical news site The Onion purchased InfoWars last week after Alex Jones was forced to liquidate his holdings to pay families of Sandy Hook shooting victims who won a defamation suit against the conspiracy theorist. Jones is trying to throw a wrench in the sale with all kinds of legal tricks. But in the meantime, it’s fascinating to look at the list of assets The Onion will acquire if the sale is finalized. Specifically, the list of domains purchased by InfoWars over the years is pretty wild.
The domains include plenty of names that make sense and are entirely predictable, including variations on Infowars like infowars.net and shopinfowars.biz. There are also domains that include “Infowars” which may have just been attempts to shield the brand from domain squatters setting up adjacent businesses. Some seem like they could plausibly be businesses Jones had planned to establish but never followed through on such as infowarspets.com, infowarscrypto.com, infowarsbunker.com, infowarsbabes.com, and infowarssocial.com.
But there are also some truly bizarre domains in the lists of assets that will be handed over to The Onion. For example, take goblinlove.com. Jones has often talked about goblins, but it’s not clear why he’d be interested in something about “goblin love” since he uses the term in a negative way about people he dislikes. He also owns goblinfire.com and goblinnest.com.
Then there are domains like slaveobama.com, starthavingkids.com, and flouridecleanse.com. The name cuckdorsey.com appears to be a reference to Jack Dorsey, the man who was CEO of Twitter when the social media platform banned Jones. Other domains include evilcities.com, goodguyswithguns.net, and redbloodparty.com.
P. Andrew Torrez, cohost of the Law and Chaos podcast, flagged the website JoeRoganExposed on Bluesky. And it certainly raises questions about what kind of attack Jones may have had planned against Joe Rogan. It appears Jones bought the site 5.5 years ago.
Huh. Seems that Alex Jones took out the website joeroganexposed.com (which has now part of the sale to the Onion pending approval of the bankruptcy court).
I wonder why that was and what Jones would like to “expose” about Joe Rogan….

It’s not clear when the dispute over the auction of Infowars will be settled in court. A different company affiliated with Jones, First United American Companies, was competing with The Onion during the auction for Infowars and has asked a federal court to disqualify it from purchasing the conspiracy theory outlet. Jones called the auction “rigged,” according to the Associated Press, but he was always going to do that if the company wasn’t purchased by someone friendly to his far-right cause.
