Hasbro’s New Skeleton Crew Figures Are Full of Cute Kids and Plastic Jude Law

Star Wars fandom might still be reeling from the surprise loss of the last live-action series The Acolyte, but such is the nature of TV in the galaxy far, far away these days that we’re already moving on to the next one. Skeleton Crew is coming this winter, and of course, again such is the nature of Star Wars, there’s a boatload of new toys coming to accompany its release.

Over the weekend at New York Comic-Con, Hasbro officially unveiled its plans for a wave of action figures inspired by the upcoming Jon Watts series, which follows a group of young kids as they find themselves whisked away from their home planet and into adventures alongside a mysterious force user named Jod Na Nawood, played by Jude Law. All four primary kids, as well as Nawood (and one particularly mean looking villain that we’ll get to in a bit) will feature in the initial wave of releases.

The kids—KB, Neel, Wim, and Fern—all come with a litany of extra accessories befitting kids going on a big galactic adventure: removable backpacks, flashlights, binoculars, and not a single blaster pistol in sight (they’re kids, of course they’re not packing heat!).

They save that in the wave for the action figures of the adults, who are carrying more than enough blasters for everyone. Nawood (who also has a removeable headscarf) carries a blaster that looks more like a flintlock pistol than anything we’ve seen in Star Wars before, but it’s the mysterious Pirate Captain Brutus who’s really prepared for a firefight. The Shistavanen pirate comes with five blasters, to dual wield in his hands, have in the holsters at his waist, or even slotted into the bandolier across his chest. Maybe he’s compensating for something, but hopefully none of our young heroes actually ask him that during the show.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew begins streaming on Disney+ on December 3—and like The Acolyte before it, Hasbro is hoping that it’ll have action figures on shelves in time for the show to begin some time this Fall.
